Jasleen's reflection week 5

This week,we do the red ribbon campaign project,we also do a P.E quiz for push up,sit up and back up.We also submitted the health journal and we also do a math review for whole number 1 and whole number 2.We also go to computer lab to finish our food clay model project

Jillian's reflection week5

In week5 we came to classes that we planned for the Red Ribbon Campaign and Bahasa Indonesia recorded for our Bahasa Indonesia project.When it was my group turn to visit the classes(7J and 7C)
we are really really nervous.We also choose the 2 winners from 7J and 7C. Some people use the red ribbon until the end of the week.We thought we are not gonna success in this project.We draw a koi fish with Mr.Ridwan.

In week 4 we learn a lot of food groups,we also learn about order of operation and we play games about order of operation too.We also planned for the Red ribbon campaign project.We also have mandarin retake test,in ICT class we take a picture of our clay project.

Weekly reflection week 5-nena

This week, we spent most of our time with the red ribbon campaign. But, besides that, we also recorded for our Bahasa Indonesia project. We also made questions with 4 steps. This friday, it was my group's turn to do the campaign, i was quite nervous but by the time the day was over, i felt so relieved and i thought that my group had succeeded with the ted ribbon campaign project.
Our idea was:
They will take a picture when they are doing a type of exercise while wearing a red ribbon. Then, we will choose 5 lucky winners from year 1,2,3,4,and 6. Unfortunately not every classes join the competition, so we decided to give them a quiz about exercises. Surprisingly, all of the little children look very enthusiastic! We felt so relieved! We thought we wouldn't be so successful in this project.

This week, we learnt a lot about health and food groups. We also learnt about order of operations, it was a lot of fun! We even played a game about order of operations. We also planned our red ribbon campaign, our english book, and took pictures of our clay food model.
Rules of the order of operations game:
First, ms lenny will make questions. Then, we write the steps and the line up in order. Ms lenny will choose the groups that have the correct answer and they'll get a point. After we understand the game, each group make the questions for the otherfriend, and they'll grt a point while the friends get teo pounts.
My group went first when making the questions for other friends. We made tricky questions!
I think it was an interesting experience and i hope that everyone thinks so too!

At week 5 we learned about drawing a koi fish and then colour it with crayons then we needed to do a expository writing for the steps of how to draw the koi fish week 5 was a fun week.

The bahasa Indonesia test was hard. It was not easy to memorize the meanings. I had math review today. It was about numbers.We submitted the healthy journal. I enjoyed doing the journal.

this week, we have a lot of fun and also do a lot of stuff. At maths, we learn about order of operations. Order of operations is like example: 100 + 25 - 5. Because the plus comes first, you add 100 + 25 first, and then you subtract it with 5. But if it's like this: 1 + 10 x 20, you times 10 and 20 first, but if it's like this:100 x (10 + 8), you add 10 and 8 first, that's what ms.Lenny told us.

In week 4, we learned about order of operation. It was not hard if I did the homework. But it was so hard did the mental test because the teacher only gave 10 seconds to do each number. I hope I can be better in doing the mental maths.

In week 5 we do our red ribbon campaign  and maths review about numbers.We also do our bahasa project ,we choose a short bahasa story book then we practice with our house group and finally record it .This week is a stressful week but it is still wonderful because we still can play with our friends and have fun.

we had a game about order of operation . in the game we need to travel from table to table. we had many fun in this traveling game.we learned many things in this such as we need to do the bracket first and then do the times and divide and the last one add and minus.

We had a game of order of operation we had to answer our teachers questions and then we could make our questions we needed to add the bracket first then you could make minus add or times.

Frederik-Week 4 Reflection-28-8'13

In this week I learned much about teamwork because I have a campaign representing "Clean and Neat Life",
And in B.I. I have a project for for the CoA which I should record my voice when reading a story.

In maths I learned about order of operations.
In arts and ICT I make a clay and take a picture of it for the work.

I think this week was fun because I had some of activities that I never experience before.

In Mathematics, we played a game with ms. Lenny about Order of Operations . The game started with a question then Answer by steps and we have to write it and lining up in order, then Ms.Lenny would go around and check's each group answers then tell who is right and who is wrong.

From what we have learned in Inquiry about food group , we have to make clay model and explain the category of clay model we made in ICT using power point. Week 2 Reflection_Joseph

In the second week we had some fun time but most importantly isthat we visited the schools lab and met a person called Mr. Hafidz he showed us around the lab and it was a really huge lab. after we take a seat he explained to us about fruits and vegies and all kind of foodgroups and I saw some scientific things and pak Hafidz even taught us how to make syrup and I love the smell of the sample that he let us smell.

In week 2 me and my friends went to interview Ibu Lucy & Mr. Hafidz, Ibu Lucy told us how to keep foods properly and much more about unhealthy also healthy Foods, Mr Hafidz told us about Nutrients on Healthy foods and also unhealthy foods. In the week 2 I've also gain lots of knowledge from my teacher explanations, books and also from my friends and I've also done lots of worksheets, tasks from my english, mandarin, maths, Bahasa Indonesia teachers, and Projects too. Week 2 Reflection -Frederik

This week , Mr.Hafidz told us about what food contains such as chemicals that can make the food have better taste and chemicals that makes food stay longer. Some food has their organic chemicals such as sugar. 

This week was exiting for me because i get to see what is in the lab.

We all went to Mr. Hafidz lab to see how the healthy food and non-healthy food that can be make. And it is awesome to be in there. We can have lebaran holiday for 2 weeks and it is so much funner! In the lab, we write all of the thing that whato can make the the thing that is not healthy like: fanta, coca cola,sprite,marjan syrup and e.t.c. It was so much fun... ^_^

____LAB_VISIT____ 2nd August 2013

Our first time visiting the lab we saw lots of scientific things, our lab teacher Mr.Hafidz told everyone in year 5L about Food coloring, nutrients in foods, Merchandise, and Other Stuff! In the lab visit we learnt how to make Syrups too so in the next visit we can make it much more easy.

RED RIBBON CAMPAIGN PROJECT

Red Ribbon Activity
The purpose of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a visible commitment to a safe, healthy and drug-free lifestyle. The campaign is designed to accomplish the following:
  • to create awareness concerning the problems related to the use of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs
  • to support the decision to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
Red Ribbon Week began in 1988 in honor of DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, who was kidnapped and killed in Mexico in February of 1985. Agent Camarena, then 37, had uncovered a multi-billion dollar drug scam in which he suspected officers of the Mexican Army, police forces and government. As he left his office one day, five men appeared at his side and kidnapped him. His body was found one month later in a shallow grave; he had been tortured and beaten.
The first Red Ribbon Week was proclaimed in 1988 by the U.S. Congress in support of Agent Camarena and the cause he gave his life for -- combating drugs. The week is marked by the wearing of a red ribbon to send the message: Live drug-free!
National Red Ribbon Week is the last week of October. SADD chapters are encouraged to celebrate Red Ribbon Week to symbolize their commitment to a healthy, drug-free lifestyle and to create awareness of the problems related to the use of tobacco, alcohol and other drugs.
The following is a list of a variety of activities your chapter may conduct in conjunction with Red Ribbon Week.
  • Paint the Town Red - Erect banners and exhibits in your school and in other community locations explaining the symbolism of the red ribbon.
  • Encourage your city's mayor to officially proclaim Red Ribbon Week. Plan a community-wide celebration that includes fun activities, live music, games and food. Emphasize that everyone can have fun without drugs.
  • Decorate your community with red ribbons. Tie them on parking meters, tree branches and park benches.
  • Distribute red ribbons to students and school personnel and ask them to wear the ribbons all week.
  • Give out small prizes, such as Hershey's Kisses or Smarties, to people caught wearing red ribbons later in the week.
  • Show a video at your school about the danger of tobacco, alcohol and other drug use.
  • Invite a member of the DEA in your area to speak to the students about the dangerous consequences of using drugs and the legal implications.
  • Visit your middle school and elementary schools and speak to the students about the red ribbon and ask them to wear one as a commitment to be drug-free.
  • Bring a bag filled with several items including cigarettes, vitamins, wine cooler bottle, candy bar, juice box, apple, chewing tobacco, snuff, etc., when you visit the middle school and elementary school. Pull out one item at a time and ask students if it is a drug or not. Reward kids with a treat for their correct answers.
  • Give out red ribbons and lollipops during your city's Halloween celebration.
  • Conduct a red ribbon poster contest in the elementary school depicting dangerous drugs and their consequences.
  • Host a family Strides for Safety Walk. Present everyone with a red ribbon to wear. Ask kids to write songs or chants they can sing during the walk.
  • Set up a health fair in your school. Invite local agencies to set up displays and exhibits with hands-on activities emphasizing the consequences of using tobacco, alcohol and other drugs.
  • Place red ribbons on all school lockers and in teachers' mailboxes as a reminder to remain drug-free.
  • Ask your local newspaper to print a red ribbon and message in the paper.
  • Develop a red ribbon message and ask local radio stations to play it for you.
  • Ask your local cable station to do a show about Red Ribbon Week. Also ask them to run printed messages on their message board encouraging viewers to be drug-free
 about What Red Ribbon Campaign is and some examples of activities. Your unit 1 is about Health and at the end of this unit, we will have Red Ribbon campaign at school as part of our ACTION.
