Tuesday 28th January 2014 - My Field Trip To Water Deco - Adel

On Monday 27th January, our class had a field trip to Water Deco. We first stayed in the class. Then at 10:30 we waited for the bus and went on it. While we were in the classroom, we made a thank you card for the Water Deco staff. Our lessons we had in the morning were Maths and English.

After we made our thank you card, we got ready to get on the bus. Before we got on the bus, Ms Lenny announced the group leaders for each group. They were Nena, Chelsea, Jasleen, Kelvin and I. Then one by one the each of the groups went downstairs to wait for the bus. It was very exciting to go on another field trip. I especially like when we sit on the bus and play games.

Eventually we arrived at Water Deco. When we got there we brought our notebooks and our pencil cases. When we got inside the Water Deco shop there were lots of fish tanks. We looked around and saw fishes and fountain parts. Then we were seated down and sat on the floor. Then there was a man who explained that we should clean our filter, that there are three different types of fish food and many more. We soon got fish food, catalogs and books about aquariums and healthy fish. Then we answered these questions and the prize was a pen and notepad from Germany. Not everyone got the pen and notepad so they gave the leftovers to those people who didn't get any. After that we fed the Koi fish and the fishes from the fish tanks. Soon it was time to leave the Water Deco shop. And arrived back at school.

At this field trip we went to water decor to learn more about water we learned that we need filters to clean bacteria in the water if we don't clean the water the fish could die.We also tried to feed the koi fish we got free fish food and at the end we had questions if we answer one question correct we got a pen and a note book.we went to the back and saw all the dirty waters it was very smelly.we also saw a strip when you put the strip in water you can see how dirty or clean the water is we saw a type of fish food it's actually a tablet you must stick it to the glass and you will see the fish eating it(I actually only remember one type) we also saw a lot of aquariums.And there interesting fish there there is a fish that has a neon blue color and then we went back to school that was my field trip.

This unit was a fun unit we learned about water.We had a project about how to save water and we also had to make a model of water distribution.We also had a Chinese New Year drama and we needed to make the props for the drama.

At Monday 27th January we have a field trip to Water Decor to get even more in formation about water. In Water Decor we learn about filtering the aquarium water, types of fishes, what food can different fishes eat and we even learned about managing and building our own aquarium. The most exiting part of this field trip is when we get to feed some fishes. Building/ making our own aquarium is pretty much as simple as just making a miniature habitat, in order to make an aquarium we'll need an empty shaped container made out of plastic according to the fish size, sand / pebbles/gravel, plants(either fake of real) and some decorations. A really interesting fact is that in the Water Decor they sell many kinds of very interesting products such as water filter, fountain sprays, and water quality testing items. We also got free fish foods, some get sea water and some get fresh water fish food according to their fishes. They have very nice products such as aquariums, sprays, foods(not fishes though), and many more.

Nicholas- 5L- field trip to Water Decor- 28 January 2014

Yesterday, My class went to Water Decor in Puri. We saw some aquariums and many kinds of fish. There we met some people who worked there. we learned to clean the water and to keep the water clean from them. They told us that we needed to keep the water in the aquarium or pond so the fish could live longer. They gave us information about the ideal sizes of the aquarium filter. We must put the filter in the tank with the right size or the fish will die fast. They also told us about the fish medicine that we should give to the fish so the fish can be healthy. There they they did not just sell the aquarium or food for fish but they also made water fountains. I liked going to Water Decor. I got much new information.

Gavrilo Field Trip

At Monday 27th January we have a field trip to Water Decor to see how they clean the water and to keep maintained the water so the water is not dirty. The people tell us how they clean the water and they just no telling us about water they also tells about aquarium fish and fish pond. They tell us what do we need to use to make the water clean and healthy so the fish don't die easily. They tell us what is inside the filter for the fish and how they work so the water is healthy for the fish leave in the water and they told us we need to find the perfect filter for the aquarium it cannot be too small or too big it must be perfect or the fish will die. They also tell us how to maintained the tank and to make the fish healthy using like a fish medicine that we stick in the aquarium glass and the fish will eat it. The water Decor is just not making aquarium or selling aquarium needs and fish they also make a water fountain that can move or like a flower shape. To make that you need a water pipe that's for water fountain grade and its made of metal so it will not broke easily. To make the water can dance for like a show its do by the computer to do that. They just not a showroom for people to see they also sell the things for the aquarium needs and fish needs, they even sells fish food.

This week, we had a lot of fun about multiplying and dividing decimals in Maths. In Mandarin, we practiced reading and making props for the Chinese new year drama. We also had a project in English. We had to make a news reporter video. we also started making the draft and background colours of our brochure about water. we had so much fun in this week! we really had lots of fun.

Gabriel 5L 26 Jan 14 Reflection

We've did a lot of stuff throughout this week we've done fun activities, maybe boring activities, or other kinds of activities.

So first off we made props for our mandarin drama we made helmets and other cool stuff we did creative activities and it was pretty much fun. Then, in English we made the draft of our expository writing about water cycle, it was hard but we did our best though.After that, at Inquiry we're making a 3D model about water distribution system but before that we do some research and other things to prepare for making the real 3D model. At P.S.H.E we practice our dance moves with friendship songs. 

Chelsea-weekly reflection-26 Jan 2014

This week we learnt lots about water. We learnt about the water distribution system. In English we did an expository writing. In Maths we learnt how to convert decimals to fractions and to times and multiply decimals. In inquiry we did lots of things about water. We were taught how to save water. In mandarin we are doing a play about Chinese New Year. The people who have lines practice their line while the props people make props. We did a project on saving water. In sports we played dodgeball, this was a fun week.

This week is a tiring week. We done a lot of stuff like making props for the mandarin drama, practing for the mandarin drama and more stuff! At english, we are making an expository essay, i already finish mine. Then at inquiry, we are researching about what are we going to need for the water distributing system model. At maths, we are learning about dividing and timing fraction, it's a bit hard. And at PSHE (physical social health education) we have to practice the songs about friendship. We also have to make a journal with pictures of saving water to proof what we do to save water And write how does this picture shows us how to save water.

this week,
we had fun and exciting things.on Monday,it was my birthday, so we celebrated by eating pizza. on Tuesday, we continue the water saving journal, on Wednesday,we study about the water distribution and on Thursday, we did some props for the drama that we are doing on mandarin class, i made a mask for the guards in the play and some made the mask, some made the swords and many more. on Friday, we had a mental maths test and i got 17/20.we also had a English spelling test. And we also practice the dancing with ms.Bella and we already start dancing.we had a lot of fun this week.

Adel_Weekly Reflection_25th January 2014

This week we did many exciting things.

In English, we learnt how to write and make a expository essay. But first we started with our outline for the essay. On Thursday Mr Lito checked my outline and the next day I made my draft and the made an essay. We also had a New Reporting Assignment. We had to make a news kind of video. It has to be ready next week.

In Mandarin, we focused on saying our lines and making the props for the play. The play is about a dragon that doesn't like Chinese New Year. But we still learned the words for our spelling test on Wednesday 29th January.

In Bahasa Indonesia Class, we learned our spelling words for our spelling test on last Wednesday. They were Sumur, PAM,

In PE we played the game Dodgeball. The boys and girls had a tie for winning.

In ICT Class, we made a list of what we are gonna put if we had a party.

In Math, we are learning about decimals (mostly times and divide). We had a Mental Maths test on Friday. There were 20 questions overall. I got 15/20. Soon there will be another test about decimals on Word Problems. The test will be held on Wednesday 29th January.

In Dance Class, we practiced movement. Next week we are going to choose our music for the End of Year Performance.

In Religion, the Catholic and the Christian joined together. We prayed for the flood victims and the babies that didn't suceed to come onto the world.

In Inquiry, we watched The Magic School Bus which was about the Water Cycle. We also made a poster or diagram thing about the Water Cycle. In these weeks we are having a project about Saving Water. So we are making a Saving Water Journal. It is dued next week too.

In PSE, we have to coreograph a dance. We had to choose music and we chose the song Count On Me and Black And White. We practiced throughout the week when we had the chance.

And that's what we did this week.

Nicholas- weekly reflection- 24 January 2014

This week, we learned about math, English, mandarin, PE, inquiry, and ICT. In math, we learned about decimals; converting decimals to fractions, multiplying by tens, hundreds and thousands, and dividing by tens, hundreds and thousands. We had a mental math quiz today. In English, we learned about expository writing. We made a draft of a story. We also had English spelling test about oceans, seas, and rivers. In mandarin, we prepared properties for a drama that is going to be played on February 4^th, 2014. In PE, we played dodge ball. In inquiry, we learned about saving water. We also have a project. In ICT, we learned to make a brochure with Microsoft office word. This is my reflection for this week.

This week is a fun week. We have a new friend, her name was Chelsea. We also have a new unit about water. We also have a new teacher, his name was Mr. Jimmy. Mr. Lito told us to do a presentation about water. We do it in teams of 2. My partner was Keanu. Then we also have modern dance. We also learn about water distribution system, water cycle and some other facts about water. Ms. Also asked if we are the ruler of the world, what will you do so we can save water?

At mandarin, we are gonna make script about the movie we watch and perform it. The movie is about nian the dragon. Nian eats people in new year. He was a Chinese beast. But he was captured with the Chinese god that have a ridiculous mustache. But nian escaped. The people knows that nian was afraid of loud noises, the color red and fire. So they painted their whole town red and add god stickers on their door. When nian came, he was so afraid and ran away forever. That is what happen this week.

This week I learn a lot about our unit that is about water.In mandarin we watch the legend about Chinese New Year.In english we do a reading comprehension worksheet about water.This semester we are going to do modern dance and in dance we are choosing a song our dance.In inquiry we watch videos about how is the process of having clean water.We also have a new fiend that are joining us in semester.She is a good,smart and fun person.I hope she will get along with all of us.We have a lot of fun this week.

January 10 2014 Reflection -Gabriel-

This week is the first week we had after a long holiday! We have a new friend and we had lots of things to do. 

In Mandarin: We watched a movie about how red is the color of Chinese new year celebration.

In Inquiry: We have a new unit not Asian anymore but its Water! We've done research about water Underground water, We watch clips about water and much more!

In English: We've done a comprehension about water and a handwriting.

In I.C.T: We had a new teacher called Mr. Jimmy he's a good teacher we are told to make a research and type it down in Microsoft word 2010.

Dancing lesson: We talk about musics we need and introducing the our new friend to the dancing teacher(Ms.Bella).

We have a Religious Service too. Religious Service in 4 Religion: Catholic, Muslim, Buddha, and Christian.

Friday 10th January Reflection 2014 - Adel

Hi everybody! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope you had a wonderful holiday. School started on Wednesday and we have done lots of things throughout these few days.

 In Mandarin, we watched a movie about a dragon.
In Inquiry, our unit changed so we're learning about water. We did lot of things that were connected with it. Like making interviews, brain maps, watching videos about water and researching at the library.
In English class, we did comprehension about water.
In ICT we have a new teacher. His name is Mr Jimmy. We also have a new student. Her name is Chelsea. She's from Australia. We also researched about water in ICT too.
In the Religious Service today we did crosswords, sang songs and we listen to the story of the Prological son.
In our Dance Class we listen to songs so we can pick our music for our End of Year Performance.

We did lots of things these past few days but the one I mostly like is Inquiry because I got to learn lots about water. 

Friday, 10 January 2014 - Reflection - Nicholas

Merry Chrismas 2013 and   Happy New Year 2014. This week, we learned english, ICT, and mandarin. In english, we learned about reading comprehension. We read stories and answered the questions. In dancing lesson, we listened to some songs with Ms. Bella in the dancing room. She had a lot of songs. She asked us about our holidays. She said that we must bring our favorite songs. In ICT, we searched pictures about water distribution systems on google. We have a new teacher. He is Mr. Jimmy. Welcome Mr. Jimmy.
