Website report :

What I've learned from:
1.Website:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjZSMu2SXt4
Explanation:I learned about Solid which have molecules that are tightly together and have a definite shape,Liquid which have molecules that are apart and take shape of their container and Gas which have molecules that are far apart and do not hve a definite shape.

What I've learned from:
1.Website:http://www.chem.purdue.edu/gchelp/atoms/states.html
Explanation: I learned that  particles in a gas are well separated  and do not have a definite arrangement., particles in liquid are close together with no regular arrangement, particles in solid are tightly packed and usually in a definite arrangement.
  • Particles in a:
    • gas vibrate and move freely at high speeds.
    • liquid vibrate, move about, and slide past each other.
    • solid vibrate (jiggle) but generally do not move from place to place.
  • What I've learned from:
    1.Website:http://www.sciencekids.co.nz/gamesactivities/gases.html
Explanation: I learned that when a liquid is heated in one beaker which is attached to another beaker the gas will spread and when we cool it the gas turns to liqui and now the to beakers have the same amount of liquid, if we heat it again and lift the lids the gas will go out and fill the room.

    Website: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjZSMu2SXt4
Explanation: In this youtube video I learnt that small means Moles and Lumps means Coles. So if you put it together, Small Lumps is Molecules. I also learnt that the Solid Molecules are tightly packed together. Solid has a definite shape since the molecules are very close to them. Liquid Molecules are more far apart than the Solid Molecules but can move very fast. Liquids do not have a shape so they take the shape of their container they are in. The Gas Molecules are farther than the solid and liquid molecules. They also don't have a shape like the liquid so they move around freely.

    Website: http://www.sciencekids.co.nz/videos/chemistry/solidliquidgassong.html
Explanation: I learnt that ice, rocks is a solid, water, milk is a liquid and air, steam is a gas. When water is warm it's a liquid, when it's cold it's ice. When it's hot it becomes gas.

    Website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks2/science/materials/solids_liquids_gases/read/2/
Explanation: I learnt that solid stay in one place. Solids keep their shape. They don't flow like liquids. Solids always take the same amount of space. They don't spread like gases.

    Jillian's hw 19NOV13

Explanation:They teach us two experiments about solids, liquids and gas.The first experiment they put  ice cubes(solid) in a plastic bag(solid)and melt it into water(liquid). After that, they put tablets in the plastic of water to make gas and make the plastic full of pressure and make the plastic blow. The second experiment ,they melt an ice cube with salt because salt makes ice melt faster. So the conclusion of the first experiment is :they melt the ice and the ice turns into water and put some tablets to make gas.
The conclusion of the second experiment is: They try to show us that if we put salt when we want to melt an ice it makes the ice melt faster.

explanation :They teach about , gas well separated with no regular arrangement, liquid are close together but solid are tightly packed, usually in a regular pattern.

    Inquiry HW 11/19/13 - Gabriel-

    1. I've learn from:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjZSMu2SXt4
What I've learn: Every matter in the world have molecules. There are 3 states of matter: Solid, Liquid, and Gas. Molecule is a word taken from green. In english molecule means small lumbs, so rather than using small lumbs, people use molecule oftenly. Molecules(in solid) are very close to each other so they will have small place to move and with small places to move it makes them having a definite shape. Molecules(in liquid) are not really close to each other which give them more spaces to move and so they takes the shape of their containers. Molecules(in gases) are far more apart than each other so gases doesn't have a shape at all.

    2. I've learn from:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rL-DxQwiVI
What I've learn: So in this activity, We need to put a water inside a bag. After that, put 1 dry ice inside the bag and seal it. Then, when the 2 substance mix into each other it will create gas, the gas will its room(the bag) and the bag will be filled with gas. when we put more dry ice the bag will pop because it can't hold more gas. The pressure of the gas filling the bag will make the bag will inflate.

    3. I've learn from:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btGu9FWSPtc
What I've learn: I've learn that Each 3 states of matter can change, as example: water evaporates to gas. Ice melt into water.

    website report Nicholas

    What I've learned from:
    1. Website http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/ks2bitesize/science/materials/
Explanation: I have learned about changing state. We can change solid into liquid by heating, liquid into gas by heating more than 100 degrees Celsius, gas to liquid by cooling. We need to boil dirty water because it has bacteria.

    2. Website  http://www.sciencekids.co.nz/gamesactivities/gases.html
Explanation : I have learned about solid, liquid and gas. The solid objects are ice, sand, and wood. The liquid objects are syrup, milk, and rain. The gas objects are helium and steam. When liquid is heated, it changes into gas. Gas spreads easily. If we remove the lid of the beaker that contains of gas, the gas goes out.
    3. Website http://studyjams.scholastic.com/studyjams/jams/science/matter/solids-liquids-gases.htm
Explanation: I have learned that molecules in solid move very slowly. Heat causes the molecules in a solid to move quicker and change into a liquid. In order for water to turn from a liquid to a solid, it must hit its freezing point of 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

excursion to ragusa ice cream -jillian-

    wWwwwj\

on thursday , we had an  excursion to ragusa ice cream factory.
We went to the class first then after that we left our school.
In the bus , i sat with Jasleen, Angel,Fely and Nena.
In the Ragusa ice cream factory we were divideed into three group, my group was Angel, Keanu,Gabriel,Kayla,Fely,Aldo and Yuka.It was hot in there . We can choose two ice cream for free , so i choosed chocolate and strawberry. The owner also gave us a magic spoon , so when we dip it into ice cream or cold stuff it will changed color.

Excursion to Ragusa Ice cream Shop -Gabriel-

My excursion to Ragusa ice cream shop started on Tuesday, 15th November 2013. Before we went to our bus, me and my friends prepare their bags, checking as if they left something. We had three groups which most of them consists of 8 people and each group will be lead by their teachers: Ms.Lenny, Ms.Ningsy, and Ms.Yuan. So after the packing, e.t.c we head to the bus. We had pretty much fun on the bus where we eat snacks, chatting, and pretty much having fun. When we arived at the Ragusa ice cream shop I never thought that the place was so old, I thought the place was much more neat like Haagen-Dazs / Baskin robbins( For Example). Anyway we had a great time eating the ice-creams. Some of my friends say that the ice creams was good, But some of them said that the ice-cream was not so good as they think it will be. So our excursion is not just eating ice cream, the owner of the ice cream shop led us to the making area of the ice-cream. She told us how the ice-cream was made, and she said that most of the people said that ice-cream was unhealthy for their body, but actually ice-cream are not, well some of the ice-cream shop are unhealthy because they are made of cream, but Ragusa was different from the others, they use milk to make the ice-cream. They use an old machine it can mix the milk with cold water below the machine so the milk will not be so aqueous. After that they put the milk into some kind of freezer. She opened it and show us the milks, I saw chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry flavors only. So after the excursion we went back to our school, We had 2 hours free before the home time. So then the teachers let us to go to the Library which we may read books, Play some board games, Sleep, use one of the computers, and mostly to have a free relaxing time. From the excursion I found out that how ice-cream was made or how ice-cream are created. We visited this ice-cream shop because in this unit we are learning about 3 States Of Matter, Gas, Liquid, and also Solid. Not just that we are also learning how the 3 states of matter are changing. As one example Liquid(Water) Freezes than changes shape & a bit of texture into Solid(Ice).

    What I've learned from:

Explanation:There is a gas come out from a bowl of noodle because the soup of the noodle is boiling so it creates gas.Everything in the world is made from small molecules .Solid's molecules stick together so it has less space.Liquid' molecules have more space because they are apart and it takes its container's shape.Molecules of gas are far apart from each other and it has no space.

My Excursion To Ragusa Ice Cream_Adel

So it all started on Thursday, 15th of November 2013. That is our excursion day. We went to Ragusa Ice Cream for us to learn more about Solid, Liquid and Gas.

First we went up to our classroom and waited for the bus driver to arrive so we can go on our excursion. It took a a few minutes until the bus driver arrived. We then went down the stairs to wait for the bus. While we were waiting, we divided into our groups. My group members were Nena, Jasleen, Sophie, Frederick, Miracle, Joseph, Ms Yuan and I. The bus then came and we went on the bus. I sat next to Aurel. While I was on the bus I ate food, played games with friends and had fun.

After lots of traffic, we finally arrived to Ragusa Ice Cream. We then walked to Ragusa Ice Cream. We went to the tables and sat there with our group members. Once we got there, we ordered Ice Cream. We get two Ice Creams for free. I chose Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream. We then were taken to a room where the Ice Cream was made. I saw the Vanilla Ice Cream mixing to make Ice Cream. I also saw milk on another table. I learned that milk can change into an Ice Cream. We then went back to our tables and waited for our Ice Cream we ordered earlier. I had my Vanilla Ice Cream first. I then waited for my second ice cream, the chocolate one. I think the Chocolate Ice Cream is better than the Vanilla Ice Cream. After all the groups got their Ice Cream, we were given a spoon. If we dipped this spoon into cold water or Ice Cream, the spoon will turn pink.

After we took pictures and left the Ragusa Ice Cream shop, we went onto the bus again and went back to school. I think this excursion is good because I learned how Ice Cream is made.

    UNIT 3 REFLECTION WEEK 2 RACHAEL 5L

ON THURSDAY 14 NOV WE WENT TO RAGUSA ICE CREAM ITALIA. IT WAS SUCH A FUN THING BECAUSE I CAN EAT ICE CREAM TOGETHER WITH FRIENDS.

A triangle is one of the basic shapes in geometry: a polygon with three corners or vertices and three sides or edges which are line segments. A triangle with vertices A, B, and C is denoted.

-isosceles:  two sides are equal in length.
-equilateral: all sides have the same length.
    -scalene:all sides are not equal.

-right triangle: A right triangle  or right-angled triangle  is a triangle in which one angle is a right angle (that is, a 90-degree angle). The relation between the sides and angles of a right triangle is the basis for trigonometry.
-acute triangle:A triangle that has all interior angles measuring less than 90° is an acute triangle or acute-angled triangle.
-obtuse triangle: A triangle that has one interior angle that measures more than 90° is an obtuse triangle or obtuse-angled triangle.

    Triangle_Joseph

A triangle is a plane figure with three straight sides and three angles.

Triangles are classified in 2 ways :
    1) By the number of equal sides they have:
       • scalene - all 3 sides have different lengths
       • isosceles - 2 sides have equal lengths
       • equilateral - all 3 sides are equal
    2) By the types of angles they have:
       • acute triangle - all 3 angles are acute (less than 90°)
       • right triangle - has one right angle (a right angle = 90°)
        • obtuse triangle - has one obtuse angle (an obtuse angle is greater than 90° and less than 180°).

There are 8 possible types of triangles :
    1.    Acute scalene (a triangle which angles are smaller than 90º and have 3 different sides
    2.    Right scalene (a triangle which have an angle of 90º and has 3 different sides)
    3.    Obtuse scalene (a triangle which have an angle more than 90º but less than 180º and has 3 different sides)
    4.    Acute isosceles (a triangle which angles are smaller than 90º and has 2 different sides)
    5.    Right isosceles (a triangle which have an angle of 90º and has 2 different sides)
    6.    Obtuse isosceles (a triangle which have  an angle more than 90º but less than 180º and has 2 different sides)
    7.    Equilateral triangle (all sides are equal and each angle are 60º)
    8.    Oblique triangle (any triangle that is not a right triangle).  It could be an acute triangle (all threee angles of the triangle are less than right angles) or it could be an obtuse triangle (one of the three angles is greater than a right angle)

    Triangles- Adeline

    Triangles

A triangle has three sides and is made of straight lines. A triangle may be classified by how many of its sides are of equal length. Or, it may be classified by what kind of angles it has.
There are three special names given to triangles that tell how many sides (or angles) are equal.

There are three special names given to triangles that tell how many sides (or angles) are equal.

Equilateral Triangle: In an equilateral triangle, all three sides are the same length. An equilateral triangle is always equiangular.

Isosceles Triangle: In an isosceles triangle, two sides are the same length. An isosceles triangle may be right, obtuse, or acute.

Scalene Triangle: In a scalene triangle, none of the sides are the same length. A scalene triangle may be right, obtuse, or acute.

Right Angle Triangle: In a right triangle, one of the angles is a right angle an angle of 90 degrees.
