The Best things in Indonesia By Aurel 5L

For this assignment I chose the following 3 locations that are located inside the beautiful country of Indonesia.

-Kiluan Bay in Lampung
-Pandawa Beach in South Bali
- Misool Island

1. Kiluan Bay

Kiluan Bay is a bay filled with a majestic and beautiful marine life. This bay is 1 of the must-see places in Lampung. In this location you can rent boats to get a closer look on the marine life. One  of the most fascinating marine life are the hundreds of dolphins. When you sail with a boat, you can see school of dolphins and many more animals such as turtles, coral etc. Although this place has been hidden from the world for 10 years, it has become a quite famous tourist spot. Not only is this place beautiful and scenic it is also important for the migration path of 2 kinds of dolphin which are bottle-nose and spinner.
I chose this location because I thought that I should report about this place to share it with others.

2. Pandawa Beach

Pandawa Beach is a beach that was once hidden within South Bali. Most people who visit Bali, usually go to the usual places such as Kuta Beach but another more beautiful beach lies hidden with the name Pandawa which is often reffered as " The Secret Beach ". This beach has mesmerizing natural landscapes with very many activities you can enjoy with your family.
I chose this place because it looked fun and exciting.

3. Misool Island

Misool Island is a remote, tropical hideaway, one of four largest islands in the Raja Ampat archipelago, world renowned dive destination in the province of West Papua. This island waters are a veritable traffic lane for many large sea creatures, including whales.
The crystal clear turquoise sea-waters allow spectacular views of Misools sub-surface colorful treasures even when still aboard your boat.  And once under the water, visibility can reach from 10 meters to as far as 30 meters. This island's waters are filled with creatures and beautiful coral underneath.
On land, the wild territory of Misool is one of the most visually breath-taking and captivating sites in Raja Ampat. The island is heavily forested, and at first sight reveals nothing but a thick green carpet of dense forests and mangrove swamps. But there are more exciting views to be refilled.Such as the rare beaches on Misool with  pure white sand, fringed with coconut trees leading out to the stunningly turquoise waters. In this tourist getaway there are all sorts of activities from diving into the turquoise water to exploring the forests.
I chose this place because of its naturality and beauty which makes it an exquisite tourist spot.

During this assigment, I learned a lot more about the hidden yet excellent places in Indonesia.

Gabriel The best thing about Indonesia

1st Place: Pulau Sipora. Surfing and Marine tourism is the most popular activities in Pulau Sipora, Aside from Surfing and Marine tourism, Snorkeling, diving, or just relaxing on the beach while enjoying the view, accompanied by a cool, whistling breeze as you wait for the sun to set are other attractions to take part on this island. Photography is also a worthy activity to do in Pulau Sipora. So this places has a lot activity to do.

2nd Place: Pandawa Beach. With a wonderful natural landscape, religious structures, and cultural activities this place is called the Pandawa Beach. This beach is an attractive place for people to visit, It has good view, clean water, and also a very fresh air. Often referred to the secret beach once this beach had long remained secluded from the crowds of tourists, due to the less-than-easy path that had to be taken to access it.

3rd Place: Smoky Falls. Deep within the Telun Seblat National Park, the sounds of roaring waters splashing over rocks can be heard. This place is a great place for an adventure, It has a cave behind the raging water and a rainbow covered with fog.

It was rebuilt in 1755 by Chinese captain Oei Tjhie. He named it Kim Tek Le or Jin De Yuan (meaning golden wisdom). its name was translated into Bahasa Indonesia become the Vihara Dharma Bhakti.
You can visit the temple in Vihara Jin De Yuan/ Kim Tek Ie
Jl. Kemenangan III No. 13 (Petak 9)

Nena the best things about indonesia

First, I choose pantai Canggu because it is very beautiful and uniue it is one of the world's best beaches and it is attracting tourists. Pantai Canggu is a very nice place to be when you want to watch the sunset. And for tourist's comfort, they are building hotels, villas, restaurants and also some cafes.

Next, I chose pulau Selayar, located in South Sulawesi, it is very beautiful and it looks very ean and just a nice place. It is where Gendang Dongson is found, which is the largest one.

The last one that I chose is Museum Tekstil. The textiles are very beautiful, unique and colorful. The place is  old fashioned and vintage. It is yhe Museum that reminded us of our traditional textiles when      We just cared about the modern textile. The Museum actually started getting textiles from charity but now they are able to buy their textiles.
So those are my favorite places of Indonesia.

Chelsea_the best thing about indonesia_28th Monday 2014

Ubud monkey forest: Ubud monkey forest is located in Ubud, Bali. I chose this place because I love monkeys and would like to know more about monkeys. The Monkey Forest street provides many choices of restaurants, from western cuisine to Balinese dishes and also Bebek Bengil.

Ngurtafur's white sand beach: Filled with charm and a sense of magic, from the beauty of the blue sky, to the endless stretches of sea and sand. Historically recognized as the legendary Spice Islands, the enchanting Maluku Province is home to much more than just mace and nutmeg. It doesn't really sell any food so you better not forget to bring your own food I like this place because my favourite kind of beaches with white sand.

Pari island’s western coasts include five smaller islands, namely: Gudus Island (Pulau Gudus), Middle Island (Pulau Tengah), Beautiful Bird Island (Pulau Burung Indah), Partnership Island (Pulau Kongsi) and Rat Island (Pulau Tikus). You need to bring lots of mosquitoes repellent because there's going to be lots of mosquitoes. I love this place because it is outdoors. I enjoy fishing and a nice quiet atmosphere.

Adel_The Best Things About Indonesia_26/4/14

1st article: The location of my toursite is from Bali. My toursite is about one of the temples in Bali. It is Tanah Lot.

Tanah Lot is derived from the words “Tanah” meaning a rock or land, while “Lot” or “Lod” means south or the sea. Therefore Tanah Lot means the Rock by the Sea.  The temples of Tanah Lot were said to have been built in the 16th century by  the  Hindu priest Bawu Rawuh (Danghyang Nirartha) who came from the kingdom of Majapahit in East Java, and travelled to Bali to spread the Hindu religion. Arriving at this spot he was inspired by the sacredness of the place and advised his followers to build the temples at this location.

On its northern side are two Balinese temples built on an overhanging cliff which connects the small island to the shore. Underneath the rock are caves that have sea snakes. It's believed to be the guardians of the temples.

The Tanah Lot temples form an inseparable part of the Dang Kahyangan temples, the six most holy temples on Bali, but here Hindus pray to the god of the sea.
On the west side of the rock is a spring which the Hindus believe to be holy water and the reason why the temples were built on this rock.

I chose this article because it is a very interesting plac to be because of the temples and because it is old and there are sea snakes that are believed to be guardians of the temples.

2nd article: My 2nd toursite is from Central Maluku. This toursite is a beach. This beach is called Ora beach.

Indonesia is home to beautiful beaches and one of these beaches is Ora Beach. Ora beach is on the North Coast of Seram Island. Seram island is most famous for its abundant bird life. Of 117 species found on the island, 14 are common on Seram.

I chose this article because I like beaches and Ora beach sounds a good relaxing place to be on a vacation or holiday.

3rd article: My final toursite is from Jogjakarta. It is a famous Buddhist temple. It is Borobudur!

The magnificent Borobudur temple is the world’s biggest Buddhist monument. It's built in the 9th century. The temple has remained strong even through after ten centuries it wasn't used with care. It was rediscovered in 1815, buried under volcanic ash. In the 1970’s the Indonesian Government and UNESCO worked together to restore Borobudur. The restoration took eight years to complete and today Borobudur is one of Indonesia's and the world’s most valuable treasures.

The monument is a shrine to the Lord Buddha and a place for Buddhist believers. The ten levels of the temple symbolize the three divisions of the religion’s cosmic system. As visitors begin their journey at the base of the temple, they make their way to the top of the monument through the three levels of Budhist cosmology. It is Kamadhatu (the world of desire), Rupadhatu (the world of forms) and Arupadhatu (the world of formlessness).

I chose Borobudur because Borobudur is very famous in Indonesia and because it is amazing that Borobudur hasn't fallen down after it did many times.

  • Misool Island:
This place is a beach, it is basically one of the 4 largest islands in the Raja Ampat archipelago. Its province is West Korea. In the sea lies many large sea creatures even whales, but the ocean holds many suprising scenerys  and very beautiful view from the boats in the sea to the beautiful and natural island

This place is a museum which holds some secrets and ancient things from the past. Lampung Museum is actually the only museum in Lampung. It can be found in sumatra and its in an island. This island is near the capital city, Bandar Lampung.
  • The Surreal Madakaripura Waterfall:
The waterfall in Surreal is a wonderous place near the mountain called Mount Bromo. The place has a very beautiful scenery where the mountains and waterfalls are. This place is used to be a place for meditations for the commander-in-chief, Gajah Mada. this place is used for meditation because the waterfall was never stopped like a place to give you shower of blessings. It is very hard on the way going to there because you must actually trek about 20 minutes crossing the rocky paths.
  • I chose Misool Island because it was an island that sounds like a paradise and have interesting information, I also like beaches because because you get to play sand and go explore animals in the deep blue sea.

types of triangles by: yuka 5L

EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE

Equilateral TriangleIn the equilateral triangle, all the sides are the same length (congruent) and all the angles are the same size (congruent).  Since the sum of the angles of a triangle is always 180 degrees, we can figure out the measure of the angles of an equilateral triangle:

ISOSCELES TRIANGLE

Isosceles TriangleThe isosceles triangle has two sides that are the same length (congruent) and two angles that are the same size (congruent).

SCALENE TRIANGLE

Scalene TriangleNo equal sides
No equal angles

ACUTE TRIANGLE

Acute TriangleAcute triangles have NO angles greater than or equal to 90 degrees -- all their angles are less than 90 degrees.  (Acute triangles have all acute angles.)

RIGHT TRIANGLE

Right TriangleThe right triangle has one 90 degree angle and two acute (< 90 degree) angles.  Since the sum of the angles of a triangle is always 180 degrees: y + z = 90 degrees. The two sides of the triangle that are by the right angle are called the legs...  and the side opposite of the right angle is called the hypotenuse.

OBTUSE TRIANGLE

Obtuse TriangleObtuse triangles have one angle that is greater than 90 degrees.  (Obtuse triangles have one obtuse angle.)

types of triangle by angel

Types of triangles may be classified by their sides, by their angles or by a combination of both sides and angles.

Triangles classified by their sides:

Scalene triangle: A scalene triangle is a triangle that has no equal sides. The following is a scalene triangle.

Isosceles triangle: An isosceles triangle is a triangle that has two equal sides. The following is an isosceles triangle.

Equilateral triangle: An equilateral triangle is a triangle that has three equal sides. The following is an equilateral triangle.

Triangles classify by their angles:

Right triangle: A right triangle has a 90 degrees angle. The following is a right triangle.

Obtuse triangle: An obtuse triangle has one angle that is bigger than 90 degrees (Obtuse angle). The following is an obtuse triangle.

Acute triangle: In an acute triangle, all angle are less than 90 degrees, so all angles are acute angles. The following is an acute triangle.

We can also name triangles using angles and sides at the same time.

If a triangle has one right angle and two equal sides, we can call that triangle right isosceles triangle.

If a triangle has only acute angles and no equal sides, we can call that triangle acute scalene triangle.

If a triangle has two equal sides and one obtuse angle, we can call that triangle obtuse isosceles triangle.

Notice that an angle cannot be obtuse and equilateral at the same time. An equilateral triangle cannot have an obtuse angle because all 3 angles in an equilateral triangle measure 60 degrees.

Types of Angles by Kayla

Equilateral equals all angles are the same. Isosceles triangles has 2 angles the same and 2 sides the same. Scalene triangle has all 3 angles and 3 sides different. Obtuse triangle has one obtuse angle, larger than 90 degrees.

types of triangles and characteristics by Fely

Right triangle: Has one 90 degree angle

Equilateral triangle: All angles are the same (60 degrees)

Isosceles triangle: Has two angles the same and two sides the same

Scalene triangle: Has all three angles and all three sides different

Obtuse triangle: Has one obtuse angle, greater than 90 degrees

Types of triangles and rules

Rules:

A triangle has three sides and three angles
The three angles always add to 180°

Types:

Equatorial:

The equatorial triangles have 3 equal sides hence the name equal. all the 3 sides have to be equal length, all angles need to be the same.

Isosceles:

isosceles  is easily just 2 angles are totally the same.

Scalene Triangle

No equal sides
No equal angles

triangles and their characteristics_nena

Triangles are three sided polygons. One of the interesting things about triangles is that if you sum up the three angles within any triangle, they will always total 180 degrees. This comes in handy when working geometry problems.

There are several types of triangles. Some triangles can be described by their sides, like the equilateral, isosceles, and scalene. Some triangles are described by their angles like the right triangle, obtuse, and acute.

Equilateral Triangle
The equilateral triangle is a triangle with sides that are all the same length. The three angles are all the same too. If we use what we learned above, that all the angles must total 180 degrees, then each angle in an equilateral triangle is 180/3 = 60 degrees.
Isosceles Triangle
An isosceles triangle is a triangle with two equal sides. As a result of having two equal sides, two of the angles will be the same too.
Scalene Triangle

A scalene triangle is one where none of the sides are the same length.

Right Triangle

The right triangle is one where one of its angles is 90 degrees. This type of triangle has some unique properties that are important to geometry including the Pythagorean Theorem. Triangles that are not right triangles, or don't have an angle of 90 degrees are called oblique.

Acute Triangle

An acute triangle is a triangle where all the interior angles are less than 90 degrees.

Obtuse Triangle

An obtuse triangle is the opposite of an acute triangle in that it is a triangle where at least one angle is greater than 90 degrees.

Acute and obtuse triangles are both oblique.

Darren unit 6 projects

At school we are at unit 6 at unit 6 we are learning about indonesian culture we need to do projects like making a book about our province and we nees toake a model of the traditional house at ict we must make a comic of our folktale and at english we need to make a story and then do a play.

Gabriel Unit 6 projects

After a long time in Unit5... Finally, we moved to Unit 6!!!
In unit 6 we are learning about Indonesia and the islands also the provinces.
Out teacher has given us projects too.
First Project: We make a book about islands each group got. Each islands have provinces too, so we pick one of the provinces inside the island that each group got. Then we collect information pictures and put it on our book. After that, combine our book with our group members. So, we have ourselves a big book of our island that we got.
2nd Project: Our second project is making a house of our own provinces, the house must be made out of sticks. After our house is done we combine our house with our group member's houses.
We also have more projects coming up and I hope that Unit 6 will go as well as the other units.

Kayla_Unit6 projects

During unit 6, we have a lot of projects. There is this one project that we have to make a book about our provinces and we combined it with other provinces. There is also this project that we have to make our local houses in our provinces using sticks and maybe a little bit of clay.

We just finish unit 5 and we move on too unit6.
In this unit 6 we are learning about Indonesia.
My group is me , Nena , Rachael , Gaby and nicholas and we are representing Sumatra.
I got north & west Sumatra.
For this unit we have two project , which is : we have to make a guide book of Sumatra , and the other one is we have to make : make a village for our selected province and then as a group we have to combine our project into one island. It's afun and challenging project because we have to use chopstick , ice cream stick ,and many more.We also have to use our building skill and many other skill to make it .
But i 'll try to make it very nice.I also never make a house with sticks .I hope everything is going well:)

We have past Unit 5 and now we're on Unit 6. Hooray!!! In Unit 6 we are learning about Indonesia, and the islands and the provinces. For this Unit we have two projects. One of the projects is to make a book about the island that the group is representing. Our group is representing the island Java. In the book we will put our provinces and other stuff. The other project is to make a village out of sticks. We each get a piece of cardboard for the base of the house. And got types of sticks. The sticks were ice cream sticks, chopsticks and toothpick sticks. I think the most hardest project is to make a village out if sticks because I have never done before so it will be very challenging. I hope Unit 5 will go well and good luck to everyone else! :D

Joseph_Unit 6 Project

In unit 6 we all have some difficult but fun exciting projects. I felt very excited for making extremly hard projects which challenges me, but I just hope that it wont be messed up by some accidents. There are 2 projects such as: making a village (related to our selected province), and making a book about Indonesia. I dont know if I got skills for building, constructing, planning, informing, or decorating, but I'll try to make it very nice. I might need to improve very fast on everything that is difficult to me. I think unit 6 is the hardest unit in year 5 because you need lot of skills to finnish unit 6 without failing. And I hope everyone will have a high score for year 5 after unit 6 is done

Nicholas unit 6 projects

In unit 6, I decorated a reused bottle with colorful glitters, a broken spoon, and some shape papers, such as: stars, a dolphin, and snowflakes. Before  I decorated it, I filled it with some water. Next, I poured some colorful glitters and put a broken spoon inside the bottle. Then, I closed the lid. I shook it and let the bottle on the table for about 5 – 10 minutes so the glitters went down to the bottom of the bottle. I pasted the stars, the dolphin, and the snowflakes. After decorating, I gave the bottle to Ms. Lenny. The activity was exciting. I enjoyed it.
